Kathy works on scanning various items such as slides, film negative, photos, documents, maps, article clippings, research information, written notes, etc.

What is the most interesting thing that you have worked on at the AU Library?

The most interesting thing I have worked on is archiving old photos, articles, newspaper clippings, documents, maps, and research resources received from a well-known person who actually collected over 30 years of data! I can tell you what year it is by observing the style of clothing, hair, vehicle or glasses in a photo.

What is the coolest thing about the Library?

It would have to be that we have a 3D printer that prints out the features that come from the computer. We have made various models such as a skull, fossil, claw etc.

Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert?

I consider myself an extrovert as I am bubbly and outgoing...I love interacting with people!

What is something people may not know about you?

As a matter of fact, I am deaf. It does not stop me from going to work. I am capable of many awesome things!

What is your favorite thing about living in Athabasca?

When I first came to visit Athabasca, it looked like a mini Jasper. I fell in love with the town. The scenery was SOOO beautiful and the people are really friendly!
